Decided to stop in my Favorite Marianos in Wheaton on this beautiful Saturday afternoon for a quick bite and to say hello to a few of my favorite employees.
I’ve known Sean Hartman for awhile and by far he is one of the best managers I’ve ever met. Although we’ll miss him at Bloomingdale, it’s nice to have him back in Wheaton.
As I was leaving I stopped over to try out this coconut water and I have to say that the Regular and Cherry coconut were absolutely amazing. Since I don’t drink pop or carbonated drinks and prefer natural ingredients this is the idea electrolyte water at only around $1.79 price point. Definitely recommend it for everyone, especially your kids!
Even though Coopers Hawk is quickly opening many new locations across the state and not a “mom and pop” restaurant like I normally dine at, I really enjoy the friendly atmosphere, amazing food and great wine.
One of the great benefits of becoming a wine club member is that you get 2 Free tastings, two bottles and two free dinners (valued at $20 each) in the month of July all for ~$38.
Yesterday we visited the new location in St. Charles, Illinois and got to personally meet the chef, manager and many of the staff. With so many food allergies we have to be careful where we eat but Chef Gregory was so helpful. I love the fact that they also have a gluten free menu so the only other two things we had to ask is that they eliminate any corn or soy sauces from our meals.
I enjoyed the Dana’s Parmesan Crusted Chicken and mom had Shrimp & Scallop Risotto. She could eat the Scallops alone because they were perfectly cooked!
I would highly recommend trying Coopers Hawk. Great for a date night, family friendly or solo.
I love visiting farmers markets and picking up fresh fruits but when I can’t, I still like to be creative with my food.
My twist on dessert.
April 22-23, 2017 Gluten Free & Allergen Friendly Expo
“The Expo is the biggest gluten free and allergen friendly event in the US. Whether you’re looking for specialty products that taste great or trying to learn how to cook and bake to meet your dietary needs, the Expo is the place to be!”
One thing I’ve been craving is Bacon Donuts and boy was I not disappointed. These Praline Bacon Donuts were Amazing. Just a touch of salty and sweet with a light fluffy donut.$2.50 each
And to my surprise they also had Biscuits and gravy! The best I’ve ever had! Rich creamy gravy with chunks of meat and crispy potatoes. Yum. Only around $6 for a half an order
The fun part was they have about 20 different varieties of donuts. Here’s a few more.
And Andes Mints

I am so excited to get my personal food blog up and running. Join me as I venture out into Chicagoland NW burbs and occasionally surrounding states to search for delicious meals under $20. You may see some sweet treats posted here and there throughout my blog too because life is all about balance.
Being a home cook also I focus a lot on Gluten free and allergy free meals for my family so I will be posting some shopping trips for affordable ingredients as well.
Thanks for stopping by, come back often!
